Client brief

From the start the client recognised that this commission would not be an easy task. The following year the two company Boards were to be merged and the different senior management teams needed to get to know each other better. Hitherto they had worked separately and there was a little bit of competition. An away-event seemed the best way to generate rapport and build personal relationships.

  • Client:  Ten directors and partners from the telecoms sector (global engineering and technology company).
  • Event:  Three-night programme in London providing a unique experience and plenty of social interaction.
  • Season:  November.

Our solution

The hotel simply had to be one of the famous five, and The Savoy fitted the bill perfectly, with the group taking river rooms.

The four-day visit included dinner at Mosimann's, which offers the most prestige private dining experience, plus a Curator's tour of the Sir John Soane Museum and an exclusive visit to Windsor Barracks Household Cavalry. This concluded with horse-drawn old-time coaches through Windsor Great Park, followed by lunch in a 14th Century manor house on a family estate.

There was a high-end shooting school visit for Board members (this was not proposed as a solution to the brief!), as well as special visits to top retail names, such as Asprey London, for the partners. There was also a port and cheese tasting at one of the capital's finest grocers, plus best seats and butler service at a top West End musical.

The visit was rounded off with a formal invitation to a private tour of the Houses of Parliament, along with a drinks reception (illustrated) hosted by a Knight of the Realm – plus one-on-one meetings with a Secretary of State and Trade Minister.

We're waiting to hear from you.
